#8 | Melanie Stamey has become an AEA All Around Champion.
melanie marie (polak)Melanie Stamey has become our 8th AEA All Around Champion. She would win her first AEA title at Hockey Hold'em IV in 2018 at Southside Ice Arena. She would hoist the Kegger Cup above head after an overtime/shoot out win. Melanie would then take home a Dekes & Dangles IV pond hockey championship crest in the winter of 2019; while playing in the Women's Bracket for the Kings Room. Finally in 2021 at Silver Puck Challenge XVII, Melanie would capture the elusive SPC title in the Potter Cup (C) with VETSports. Once again, the title would be nabbed in overtime. Melanie is quickly becoming known for her overtime/shoot out experience. The "Shootout Queen" has been a part of 10+ games that have needed an extra stanza to complete. In 2021, at Silver Puck Challenge XVII, she would score in 3 of 4 shootout opportunities. Melanie is now our 8th and newest member to the AEA All Around Champion club.
Melanie Marie will be eligible for the AEA Hall of Fame in 2027.
Melanie Marie joins her husband (Drew Polak) as the first married couple to become AEA All Around Champions on the AEA circuit.

The AEA has been bringing adult "beer league" hockey tournaments to west Michigan for over 20 years. Established in 2005, we have delivered some of the most competitive and unique tournament formats to the state. Our goal is to insure that all teams have the same opportunities to compete and win.
